Hello! I'm not sure if I'm not looking in the right places, but I'd like to have someone with experience answer this for me. I'm going to be flying to Japan in November. My flight is departing from Cleveland-Hopkins airport, having a layover at Detroit Metro, having another layover in Seattle, and then finally making it to Kansai International Airport. I'm slightly nervous because there is only about 75 minutes between each flight ... and I am curious as to when security & all that goes down - will it be at Cleveland or does it wait until Seattle? Luckily I'm not checking any baggage, but I just like to know these kinds of things ahead of time. Thank you for your time! I would like to clarify, by security, I really mean like checking passports, and doing whatever stuff they do to people flying overseas. Sorry about that. :)

You will go through TSA type security in Cleveland and get all your boarding passes. In Detroit you just need to go to your gate, same in Seattle. Then when you arrive in Japan you will go through customs at Kansai. 75 minutes is plenty of time. Have fun, Japan is a lovely country to visit!
