I have a overnight layover at JFK. My international flight departs the next morning...What should I do?
Can anyone please give me a few tips as to what to do. My flight from Cleveland gets in at 6pm and then I catch my morning Emirates flight to India takes off at 10am (which means I have to fly in the previous night as there are no flights out of Cleveland at a earlier time) So basically - I have a overnight layover at JFK prior to my international departure the next morning at 10am. What should I do? - Does JFK have a hotel in its premises? - Should I sleep in the airport itself? Has anyone every been in this situation before and give me some tips. Thanks a ton in advance THANKS!!! I LOVE THE YAHOO COMMUNITY AND ALL THEIR HELPFUL ANSWERS. CHEERS

there are many nearby hotels which have courtesy vans. Shoot, if it was me, I would even go into Manhattan and take early subway up next morning. I don't think you can sleep in the airport, but I wouldn't want to. No hotel on premises.

Look up the airport on the internet - most big airports have their own web pages. This will tell you where the nearest hotels etc are. When I had this flying out of miami I just stayed overnight in a nearby hotel. Its better than sleeping in the airport.

http://www.panynj.gov/airports/jfk-hotels.html contains a list of a bunch of nearby hotels with shuttles: you can catch the shuttles from the AirTrain station at Federal Circle. If you want to splurge you can take the subway (from either Jamaica or Howard Beach AirTrain Stations) into the city and find a hotel there, though I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you have to brave rush hour to reach your flight in the morning.

You should go out and check out the night in New York.
