I am flying for the third time ever and need to transfer at Newark for Cleveland how do I go about this?
Any information on how I get from landing at Newark to getting on the flight to Cleveland would be greatly appreciated, I have a lay over of roughly 90 minutes.

Okay, been there and I'll try to explain as good as I can remember. Two scenarios. If you're a non-US citizen you need to pick up your bags in between. When you've done this, you can either go right to leave Newark, but you have to stay to the left. But there are arrows pointing you in the right direction. You give your bags to the persons that are standing there to collect them. If it's crowded and there is a line, don't worry, just say you haven't got much time. Sometimes they ask or yell, who has a flight at...? And you can skip the line. But normally 90 minutes is sufficient! You leave your bags and than you can proceed,by looking on the screens to see at which gate your next plane leaves. The other scenario is if you're from the US and make a layover. Not sure how it works than. Because I'm from Europe. Hope this helps.
